Barton Creek Flood Control

Contract Amount: $4 Million                     Owner: Davis County                    Completed in 2011

Two large projects were completed for Davis County as part of a major upgrade to the county storm drain system.

3,060 feet of new 9’x4’ and 100 feet of 10’x5’ precast box culvert was installed on this project in the UDOT I-15 right of way including an open cut crossing of I-15 and the I-15 off-ramp which required 24 hour per day– weekend work to complete and a difficult highway underpass crossing. A new 23 ac-ft stormwater detention pond was constructed requiring 88,000 cubic yards of excavation and 2,000 feet of new 66” RCP was installed at depths up to 20 feet.

Other work on this project included ten new cast-in-place concrete structures, extensive traffic control, utility relocations, a large amount of dewatering and bypass pumping of existing flows, wetland protection and pavement restoration.
