South Jordan Force Main

Contract Amount: $10.1 Million                     Owner: South Valley Sewer District                    Completed in 2010

The construction of this new forty-two inch HDPE sewer force main project for South Valley Sewer District required some creative construction techniques. This project consisted of installing eighteen thousand feet of dual force main HDPE pipelines along the Jordan River corridor.  The pipe was installed at average depths of fifteen feet in an area of extremely high groundwater. Two open cut crossings of the Jordan River were completed, as well as two forty-eight inch jack and bore road crossings in the UDOT right-of-way. Along with the new force main piping, eighteen hundred feet of new forty-eight inch HOBAS gravity sewer was installed.

Other work  on this project included installation of air vac vaults along the pipeline and 4” communications conduit with three– 1” innerducts along the entire project length.  Wetland protection and restoration was required, along with golf course and trail parkway restoration.
